Video games come in many different styles and genres, and with these different styles and genres comes plenty of opportunities to be violent with the thousands of different weapons out there. Sometimes, however, there may be a weapon that makes no sense or just plain sucks. Here are five of the best…at sucking.
5. Nikita Launcher from Metal Gear Solid
This weapon seems more like a weapon of convenience, just there so that Konami could include electrified floors in MGS. While using this, Snake is stationary, leaving him open to being spotted and vulnerable to attack, making this a virtually useless weapon, being only really useful in the second fight against Sniper Wolf.

The PS20: as good as it looks.
Single shot pistol that is pretty much inferior to any other weapon in the game. You can’t upgrade it, as I’ve said, it’s single shot, and there is never any point in the game where it is required or acts as a replacement for another weapon.
4. PS20 from Deus Ex
Single shot pistol that is pretty much inferior to any other weapon in the game. You can’t upgrade it, as I’ve said, it’s single shot, and there is never any point in the game where it is required or acts as a replacement for another weapon.
3. Claymore/C4 from Metal Gear Solid
Both of these could be set up for fun little rampages on the enemy, but on a game concentrating on stealth, the only use for Claymores were in the second battle against Vulcan Raven, and the C4? Blowing up the walls to get to Kenneth Baker.
2. BB Gun from Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas
I like the way that the BB gun was a present in Fallout 3 from your father, but other than that, why was this weapon even there? Utterly pathetic against anything but the most basic vault enemy, once you escaped the vault, this weapon was just taking up space and begging to be sold.
1. Sniper Rifle from (almost) Any Game
Very few games make a sniper rifle a joy to use. You zoom in towards your target, get a clear shot opportunity against the head, but the shot never lands. Why? Because your sight can see through 2D trees, but the bullet can’t travel through them. Also, a lot of the time, you fire the weapon, and most games super soldier’s will identify your position straight away, even when silenced, making it pointless to even use from a distance. The final problem with sniper rifles? A games draw distance. The whole point of a sniper rifle is to remove a target from a distance, and not many games have a decent draw distance. Buildings, people and vehicles disappear and reappear, making a deciding shot difficult to pull off.
