Catherine Produces Best Launch Sales Ever For Atlus

It’s been a good week for Atlus as it was revealed that Catherine has sold better than any previous title for them in its first week of release.

Atlus are the company behind popular series’ such as SMT: Persona and Trauma Centre, but so far Catherine has captured the imagination of gamers more than any other game Atlus have produced.

While sales figures for the game aren’t yet available, Tim Pivicny has said that “Catherine has exceeded our wildest expectations.”

It seems like the mature tone of the game has attracted a lot of gamers who usually wouldn’t play this genre of game.

We’re still waiting on an official release date for Catherine here in the UK although rumours seem to be pointing towards November 2011.

Catherine UK Release Date News

One of the most anticipated games of the year Catherine will be getting a UK release later this year.

Catherine is a puzzle/platformer/adventure game developed by Atlus – the makers of the popular Persona series.

Atlus has now signed a deal with Deep Silver to publish the game in the UK.

“We are very proud to be able to publish Catherine in all PAL territories as a Deep Silver game”, says Deep Silver president Klemens Kundratitz.

Kundratitz was particular drawn to Catherine because of its unusual blend of genres.

“Catherine is something new, fresh and exciting; unlike anything else in the gaming world – a unique mixture of genres. This agreement proves once again that games published under the Deep Silver label are not ‘more of the same’, ‘run of the mill’ productions.”

When an official UK release date is announced we will report it right here at Gamers Corner.
